The protagonist, a survivor of a difficult foster care upbringing, formed an unbreakable bond with four friends: Chloe, Louise, Angela, and Lily. As they matured into adulthood, the group eventually drifted apart.
Now independent, the protagonist invites Chloe, the only friend who also lacked a family, to live with him. Their shared past and new living situation raise questions about whether their bond can withstand new challenges and the lingering shadows of their early lives.
