Story

Arcane Academy casts players as the lone gate warden of a magic school, an ordinary individual surrounded by forbidden arts. The protagonist's sister is afflicted by a fatal illness called the Hollowing, and the only cure is controlled by the very institution that scorns him.

To save her, the detention master offers a Binding Sigil, allowing the protagonist to extract Mana from illicit glances at the academy's female students as they pass through his checkpoint. Players must enforce the dress code, issue citations for violations, and strategically exploit these opportunities to gather Mana. This collected Mana is crucial for paying a weekly tithe and acquiring the cure before time runs out.

Gameplay

Players manage a checkpoint, making choices about which students to cite based on a daily dress code. The core loop involves judging outfits, issuing citations, and deciding when to "look deeper" to gain Mana. This Mana is then used to pay a weekly tithe, progressing the narrative and the race against the sister's illness.
